HOP HASH For Firkin Wednesday!

Here we go folks, it's Firkin Wednesday again (as is every Wednesday).

Today at 4:00 pm we have a fairly unique firkin of Deadwood Wheat - I've utilized our lightest beer as a canvas to test a new product from a local hop farmer - Hop Hash.

You heard me.

Said Hop Hash has an iso-alpha acid content of ~ 37%, beta acid content of ~ 24%, and oil content of near 30%. The firkin has been dosed to the tune of 45 IBU on top of the 12 IBU the Wheat beer is calculated to during brewing of the beer.

The little wheat beer that could 'should' be 57 IBU now.

Will we perceive it that way? Will the beta acids kick our buds in the butt, perhaps they're not even part of the equation here? How will the oils come through in the finish? If there's as much oil as the lab analysis show then our buds in for a pummelling!

We'll find out today at 4:00 P.M., folks!

And here it is.....  sticky, stinky.... everything you'd expect of good hash!
